• Act as the technical point of contact for the sourcing, purchasing and inspection of critical parts by understanding supplier manufacturing process and how quality risks can be mitigated.
• Become thoroughly familiar with the manufacturing process of assigned parts.
• Review issues on assigned parts and solve to the root cause, implementing changes at the supplier, at SBS or both, as appropriate, drive further actions to closure, and re-source to new suppliers where appropriate.
• Work with procurement and sourcing to find exceptional suppliers and vet them appropriately for quality and engineering capability.
• Conduct design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews with selected suppliers to ensure parts are manufacturable per print and customer requirements.
• Conduct comparative analysis (CPAL) studies to evaluate and approve suppliers for dual sourcing.
• Create technical prints based on samples or customer requirements.
